Fun Halloween Party Ideas and Tips

The festival of Halloween started out as an ancient traditional festival by the Celtics and when people migrated from the European nations to America, they carried along the tradition and hence we see the popularity today. Most of it has become commercialized and a pop fad however with globalization on full force one gets to see Halloween now being celebrated in countries like south Africa, India, China, Venezuela and Thailand as well.
Halloween parties are a tradition for many families and there are various ways you could entertain your family and friends this year. Apart from a line of slick horror movies and tales, one could have fun games at your Halloween party to bring in the chills of the festival. For example, one could have a haunted house set up at home where the folks dress up a ghosts and goblins and spook the ones who come visiting or even have a trick or treat competition in the neighborhood, where the kids would go collecting their goodies and drop by at your place at the end of it to do the counts.
There are many games that one can play to entertain your guest. You could have a treasure hunt around your courtyard where the goodies are hidden in caskets under stacks of hay and when someone goes to open the box maybe a scary mask could spook them off. Another popular idea running around would be to have a mini Halloween fashion show, where people of all age groups would display their costumes and show of what they wear. A fun theme to get all the uncles and aunts and grandparents involved while the whole family has a great time.
For the kids and the toddlers finding fun but not too scary activities is a must. One could have coloring books around with crayons. This would not only make their imagination expand but would also allow their artistic skills to flourish, for the night. You might even have a reading competition for the kids around by giving them comics and story books on Halloween based themes and concepts. Ask them to read one paragraph at a time and then explain it to all around with gestures and emotions, making the ambiance lively and also entertaining. Costume making is another fun activity, and you may want to stock up on thrift store finds and construction paper and other craft materials for your party.
